Care, Normativity and the LawIn Daniel Engster & Maurice Hamington (eds.), Care Ethics and Political Theory, Oxford University Press. pp. 127-145. 2015.Care ethics can provide a valuable conceptual and normative resource for many issues in law, but given the conservative nature of law in general, much work needs to be done before care ethics can explicitly play such a role. In this paper I survey the landscape of law, discuss two attempts to incorporate care ethics into the normative framework of law, and suggest other avenues for incorporating care ethics in law and legal reasoning.
