Crosstalk between Cell Adhesion Complexes in Regulation of Mechanotransduction
with Alba Zuidema and Arnoud Sonnenberg
    Bioessays 42 (11): 2000119. 2020.
Physical forces regulate numerous biological processes during development, physiology, and pathology. Forces between the external environment and intracellular actin cytoskeleton are primarily transmitted through integrin‐containing focal adhesions and cadherin‐containing adherens junctions. Crosstalk between these complexes is well established and modulates the mechanical landscape of the cell. However, integrins and cadherins constitute large families of adhesion receptors and form multiple co…Read more

A Critical Analysis of Structural Realism
    with Yu Jinlong
Frontiers of Philosophy in China 3 (2). 2008.
The epistemological version of structural realism, proposed by Cao Tianyu, has great influence in the philosophy of science. Syntheses has published a special volume discussing the topic. Cao criticizes anti-realism, as well as the epistemic and ontic versions of structural realism. From the concepts of structure, ontology, and construction, he analyzes the objectivity of scientific theories as having five aspects: construction, historicity, holism, revision, and revolution. This paper systemati…Read more

    Cohesive sets and rainbows
Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 165 (2): 389-408. 2014.
We study the strength of RRT32, Rainbow Ramsey Theorem for colorings of triples, and prove that RCA0 + RRT32 implies neither WKL0 nor RRT42 source. To this end, we establish some recursion theoretic properties of cohesive sets and rainbows for colorings of pairs. We show that every sequence admits a cohesive set of non-PA Turing degree; and that every ∅′-recursive sequence admits a low3 cohesive set

As the sensitivity to corporate social responsibility continues to grow, the goal of enterprises has expanded beyond the sole pursuit of economic value. Corporate social goal orientation has therefore come to occupy a central position in entrepreneurs’ psychology and the transition away from a market-only economy. This study uses secondary data from 4,288 samples of 725 Chinese-listed companies from 2009 to 2020 to explore the driving factors in social goal orientation based on the characteristi…Read more

Avoidant attachment attenuates the need-threat for social exclusion but induces the threat for over-inclusion
with Tsubasa Izaki and Taishi Kawamoto
    Frontiers in Psychology 13. 2022.
The influence of attachment style—anxious and avoidant attachment—on subjective responses to socially excluded experiences termed “Need-Threat” remains inconsistent. Need-Threat is a composite score of four fundamental needs: belonging, self-esteem, control, and meaningful existence. Individuals with high AX tend to spend much effort maintaining strong connections with others, while those with high AV tend to maintain high levels of self-esteem by distancing themselves from others. Therefore, at…Read more

with Fengwen Chen, Jingwei Xu, Fangnan Liao, and Yineng Guo
    Frontiers in Psychology 13. 2022.
The enterprise network is of great significance in explaining the risk-taking of individual firm. However, some unobservable networks hidden in different firms have long been neglected. Using the text data of the annual reports of China’s listed firms from 2007 to 2018, this paper adopts a textual analysis method to capture the managers’ perceptions of pressure, and build a special kind of hidden inter-firm networks, that is, the perceived competition networks of managers. In addition, this pape…Read more

In order to solve the problem of unsmooth and inefficient human-computer interaction process in the information age, a method for human-computer interaction intention prediction based on electroencephalograph signals and eye movement signals is proposed. This approach is different from previous methods where researchers predict using data from human-computer interaction and a single physiological signal. This method uses the eye movements and EEG signals that clearly characterized the interactio…Read more
