I am a PhD student at the University of Utah. I primarily work in political philosophy, philosophy of science, and the intersection of the two. My dissertation is on issues in emergency and disaster management: (1) specifying the state's obligation to emergency and disaster management; (2) politically legitimate values in science policy advising; (3) the weighting of competing values in emergency and disaster policy advising to address past and current injustices against groups that have historically suffered the most during emergencies and disasters, using indigenous wildfire management as a case study; and (4) how concepts of health affect …

Before Utah, I received a B.S. in genetics and philosophy from Iowa State University and an M.A. in philosophy from Northern Illinois University.
