I am a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Utah. My dissertation is at the intersection of political philosophy and philosophy of science, focused on issues in emergency management: the state's obligation to invest in emergency management, expanding the diversity of experts included in policy-making, the use of political values by scientists in policy-making, and public health emergencies. I also have secondary interests in philosophy of genetics, philosophy of biology, and bioethics. I did my M.A. in philosophy at Northern Illinois University, and my B.S. in genetics and philosophy at Iowa State University.
