She has been Visiting Fellow at the Department of Philosophy at Harvard in 1995-96, and post-doc in Practical Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam in 1996-97. Since 1998 she has been a faculty member of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin on a tenure track position, tenured in 2004, and promoted to Full in 2008. Bagnoli is working on normative model of (individual and shared) rational agency designed to deal with complex phenomena such as perplexity and conflicts among sources of normative authority, starting from considerations about interconnected, limited and embodied practical subjects. She aims to develop this model to address the normative challenges of globalization during her three years research tenure at the National Academy of Lincei.
