My core research is on the moral significance of social practices. I am concerned with how practices affect what decisions we should make and how we should evaluate these practices. Most often, the first part of my research is categorized as moral theory and the second as political theory, but I argue that the relevant issues are not as separable as this categorization suggests.
I am currently working on a book project, titled "Kantian Conventionalism," that reconciles the moral importance of social contingency with Kantian moral ideals.
I'm also a consistent supporter of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics programs.
