Christopher F. Masciari

I am a clincal ethics fellow at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. My research integrates the philosophy of mind and bioethics. I approach these concepts with an eye toward cognitive science and experimental psychology. Before coming to MD Anderson, Cancer Center I earned a Phd in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, College Park under the supervision of Peter Carruthers. My dissertation provides a partial defense of the representational theory of perception. Prior to that I earned an M.A. in Philosophy from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Besides my research interests, I also have a passion for teaching. As a first-generation college student, I encourage my students to see the value of philosophy.
