My current research focuses on the character of political liberty, both as it figures into early modern political theory and as we ought to understand it today. Before coming to Davidson, I was a post-doctoral fellow in the Political Theory Project at Brown University. Starting July 1, 2026, I will be Professor of Philosophy and a member of the Ordered Liberty Project at Washington University in St. Louis.
