After studying in Marburg and Berlin, I received my M.A. in philosophy, sociology and comparative religion from Freie Universität in 2000. I defended my doctoral dissertation there in 2008. The M.A. thesis was supervised by Albrecht Wellmer, the doctoral thesis by Sybille Krämer and Martin Seel.
My areas of specialization are the philosophy of language (theories of meaning, theories of interpretation, expressivism, semantic holism, semantic externalism, pragmatics, hermeneutics, Wittgenstein) and the philosophy of mind (intentionality, externalism, embodied mind, consciousness and self-consciousness, mind and language). I also work on some issues in epistemology (truth and justification, scepticism, perception, self-knowledge) and social philosophy (theory of practice, normativity, social ontology, subjectivity and intersubjectivity). Another thing that interests me is the philosophy of religion.
