I am a philosopher of science particularly interested in biology, medicine, cognitive science, and social sciences, now working within the project "Normative Kinds". My research regards a range of epistemological questions, among which: the nature and nurture of complex phenotypes, such as human intelligence, mental disorders, and somatic diseases; the history and philosophy of quantitative genetics, particularly how early models in genetics have shaped the contemporary research landscape and agenda; epigenetic and canalization effects in human development; the role of values in shaping methods, concepts, and categories in precision medicine.
