My scholarly interests cover a broad range of topics in the history and philosophy of science and Early Modern philosophy. My specialty, however, is the philosophy of space, time, matter, and motion (from ancient to modern times), in particular, the substantival versus relational debate on the ontology of space and spacetime. My recent work has focused on alternative ontologies of space and spacetime, i.e., non-substantival and non-relational, such as the property theory of space, spacetime structural realism, and emergent theories of space and spacetime.
