I am professor of philosophy of language at the University of Hamburg. My main research interests lie in the philosophy of language and communication and in metaphysics. I am currently working on theoretical, ethical and empirical aspects of lying, misleading and misinformation, on the metasemantics, semantics and pragmatics of linguistic and pictorial communication and on issues in the philosophy of time.
