I'm a philosopher and musician (Azlan Rising) based in Michigan. Officially, I'm associate professor of philosophy at Oakland University and affiliate faculty member at the Center for Consciousness Science, University of MIchigan Medical School. I wrote my doctoral dissertation on a central problem in neuroscience called the binding problem and how that problem pertains to key philosophical issues regarding the unity of consciousness.
