I am distinguished professor emerita at Rutgers University. I am interested in the nature of psychological explanation, in both science and everyday life, and the relation between the two. My recent work has focused on computational models of our cognitive capacities, developing an account of the role of representational content in such models. I also have research interests in perception in general, and the theory of vision in particular, including the history of the study of vision, and in computational neuroscience.
