I work on topics in moral psychology and agency, self-knowledge and self-opacity, ethics, and aesthetics. My thinking is typically grounded in Kant and Freud, and I've also worked on James Baldwin, W.E.B Du Bois, Stanley Cavell, Iris Murdoch, and Bernard Williams. I also write about film. I'm currently writing a book tentatively titled Opaque Animals: Agency, Ethics, and Experience.
