I am a doctoral candidate in the Department of Philosophy at Marquette University. I work primarily in the history of philosophy, with particular emphasis on nineteenth and twentieth century European philosophy, and the philosophy of psychoanalysis. I am currently completing my dissertation entitled The Fantastic Structure of Freedom: Sartre, Freud, and Lacan. In this project, I explore Sartre's fraught relationship with Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis.
