Ian J. Thompson is a Fellow at the Center for Swedenborgian Studies of the Graduate Theological Union, as well as a Theoretical Nuclear Physicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA, having until 2006 been Professor of Physics at the University of Surrey, UK. He also investigates the ontological foundations of physics and mind. Most recently he has examined theism as if it were a scientific theory, to clarify its foundations and make specific predictions about the nature of minds and of the physical world.
