Hi! I'm an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My research focuses on eighteenth-century German rationalism, particularly Kant. I’m especially interested in the fate of human reason’s demand for explanation—theoretical and practical. Other philosophical interests include contemporary metaphysics, ethics, philosophy of hope, early modern philosophy (especially Leibniz and Wolff), post-Kantian philosophy, and Western engagement with Chinese philosophy.
