I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy.
My current research is primarily concerned with concepts of symmetry and identity and their role in physics, mathematics, and logic. I'm especially interested in applying tools from category theory to philosophical problems in these areas that have to do with identity. Right now I'm focused on defending an interpretation of gauge theories as involving nontrivial identity facts. My other work deals with the philosophical foundations of quantum gravity (black hole thermodynamics in particular), questions about space and time, and issues in the metaphysics of science.
