I am interested in understanding extraordinary beliefs and experiences, and my work is empirically informed and unconcerned with disciplinary boundaries. I currently lead the project Expanding the Philosophy of Religion by Engaging with Afro-Brazilian Traditions (2021–2024) and work on How Emotions Inform Religion: Integrating Christian Theology And Cognitive Affective Neuroscience (2023–2025).

I work as a research fellow at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. I was previously a research fellow at the Federal University of Santa Maria, the Rutgers Center for the Philosophy of Religion, the Jesuit School of Philosophy and Theology, and the Federal University of Paraná. I've also been an invited visiting fellow at the Leeds Centre for Philosophy of Religion and Theology and the Birmingham Centre for Philosophy of Religion. I received my BA, MA, and PhD from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in my hometown of Porto Alegre.
