I research and write in the areas of 19th- and 20th-century European philosophy (especially Friedrich Nietzsche), ethics (including moral psychology), and environmental philosophy. My work on Nietzsche focuses on his moral psychology and the problem of nihilism (especially affective nihilism) in his thought.

I am also interested in Nietzsche's account of self-knowledge, agency, and personal transformation, the transformative potential of affectivity, and the socio-cultural mediation of affects.
