I'm interested in people: what being a human being and an individual person involves, and how we can be each of these more and less well; the complexities of our inner lives (including their social and relational formation); and how people come together and fall apart in different forms of relationship, especially ones they experience as deeply significant. I'm absorbed by (frankly a bit obsessed with) attending to and sketching the landscape of human need, which shows up in my work on loneliness (especially the significance of feeling understood for social, emotional, and valuing beings like us, for whom these dimensions are intertwined).
