I’m an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Philosophy and Classics at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before this, I held a two-year Government of Ireland postdoctoral fellowship in Classics at Trinity College Dublin. From 2021 through Fall 2023 I was Visiting Assistant Professor in Classics and Lecturer at Colgate University. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Chicago. My own studies focus on early Greek poetry and philosophy, and more particularly on the history of the concept of nature (φύσις or φυή/φυά) and related concepts, as well as the history of plant metaphors and reflection on plants in botany and otherwise, the interpretation of Empedocles, Nietzsche's relationship with antiquity, etc.
