I am an associate professor at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). Before coming to Buffalo, I was at Wayne State University in Detroit, and prior to that I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Southern California. I am an early modernist, principally working on Hume, Reid, and Locke, but with broad interests in both early modern philosophy and contemporary philosophy. My current projects revolve around Hume's philosophy of mind, and around early modern philosophy of language.
