Epistemic CommunitiesPhilosophical Quarterly. forthcoming.This paper investigates the concept of epistemic community. Despite its frequent usage, the term lacks a clear and unified characterization. I argue that epistemic communities are essential to understanding how individuals form justified beliefs in contexts of epistemic dependence.
