In this note, however, I argue that by overlooking some essential features of empathy, Zahavi’s account unnecessarily limits its scope. In particular, I argue that Zahavi’s account, by characterizing empathy as an immediate, direct perceptual access to the other’s experiences, overlooks its normative dimension
