Noell Birondo is Professor of Philosophy and chair of the department at the University of Texas at El Paso. He works primarily in moral philosophy and the history of ethics. He recently completed a book on the moral psychology of hate and is currently studying the influence of Western imperialism on our conceptions of the virtues. Winner of the American Philosophical Association’s 2019 Essay Prize in Latin American Thought and a past member of the APA Committee on Inclusiveness in the Profession, he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Notre Dame and his B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley.
