I am a physician (Hamburg '90), epidemiologist (Harvard '97), and grad student of philosophy (U Johannesburg). I am interested in all things causation, in particular in phil of epidemiology and medicine. Other topics of interest are phil of mind and language. I have published extensively on perinatal brain damage causation and currently work on a thesis (with book contract) on "Etiological Explanations". A book co-authored with Ben Smart on "Causal Inference in Population Health Informatics" is forthcoming.
