I am a post-doctoral fellow with the Excellence Cluster TOPOI working with Philip van der Eijk in TOPOI Area D-2, Mapping Body and Soul.

I studied under Devin Henry at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, and defended my dissertation "Method and Metaphor in Aristotle's Science of Nature" in 2013. My research looks at ideas about causation in ancient philosophy and science, particularly the ancient life sciences, and attempts to piece together how these ideas changed over time, and what these changes can tell us about the development of different methods, models and norms of scientific inquiry.
