9The Person After Death in Holistic-Configurational TheorySíntese Revista de Filosofia 50 (157): 319. 2023.The current debate between Thomists of the corruptionist view and the survivalist view revolves around the most appropriate interpretation of Thomas’ texts about the persistence of the person after death. The present article criticizes both views, and offers a new interpretation of Thomas which is capable of resolving the problem. However, the main scope of the paper consists in offering an alternative theory to the hylomorphic view of the person, and introduces a more adequate and coherent theo…Read more

5A Visão Constitucional Da PessoaAufklärung 2 (1): 27-44. 2015.According to the Constitution View, the person is not identical to his body or even to his psychological states. What makes a Person1 at t1 the same Person2 at t2 is his first-person perspective. The person would be then constituted by one body, but not identical to it. The present paper raises some criticisms of the Constitution View of L. R. Baker, which redirect to a non-physicalist form of putting the problem of personal identity, different from that of Baker.

4Hans Jonas And His CriticsAufklärung 1 (1): 51-74. 2014.This paper presents two more elaborate criticism of the Jonas´ project, namely that taken from the transcendental-pragmatic of K.O-Apel and taken from the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur. The two philosophers are confronted with the Jonas´ principle of responsibility, indicating its shortcomings and limitations. The purpose of the paper is a glimpse of the way that the principle of responsibility has to follow in order to better respond to the demands of ethical foundation of our time.
