I am a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at NC State University. My research interests include philosophy of science, metaphysics, and applied ethics (especially bioethics and machine ethics). I'm particularly interested in the relationship between philosophy and science, the nature of fundamental physical properties (I defend a dispositional or powers-based view), personal identity, animal minds, animal ethics, and the social and ethical implications of AI.
