In the Critique of Pure Reason, Kant addresses the problem of reason's supposition of a fundamental power underlying the faculties of cognition. This concept had been debated in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century philosophy. Kant's position in this work is not entirely clear, although a distinct dependence on Tetens's prior treatment of the issue can be detected. The requirement to assume a unitary foundation underlying the diversity of the mind's operations or faculties was a common theme in Leibnizian-Wolffian philosophy. In this article, we will argue that Kant developed the concept of a fundamental power primarily through his theoretical elaborations on the nature of genius. In this way, he integrates this concern of the Leibnizian-Wolffian tradition into his aesthetic project.

Tetens is usually considered the main representative of English empiricism in 18th-century German philosophy. In order to find out how fair this characterization is, the authors turn to the analysis of the critical foundations of the project of reform of metaphysics proposed by Tetens in his early article “Reflections on Some Reasons Why There Are So Few Settled Truths in Metaphysics” (1760). Having analyzed the arguments of this article, the authors prove: 1) Tetens's project for the reform of philosophy fully fits into the tradition of German "methodical" philosophy, 2) it is based on the methodological and epistemological principles of the philosophy of Leibniz and Wolf, and is aimed at substantiating the basic provisions of Leibniz's metaphysics, 3) Tetens's “observing method” is rooted in the philosophy of Leibniz and Wolf, and not in the tradition of English empiricism.

This study investigates the adoption and application of bibliometric reviews in marketing literature by conducting a methodological literature review of 140 studies published in the top 47 marketing journals. Drawing on a comprehensive analysis, we explore various aspects of bibliometric review methodology, including sample size selection, database comprehensiveness, methodological complementariness, contributions to theory, and implications for practice. Our findings reveal a growing recognition and utilization of bibliometric techniques in marketing research. However, concerns persist regarding the rigor and potential contributions of bibliometric analysis. We identify key areas for improvement, such as ensuring adequate sample sizes and replicability, enhancing database comprehensiveness, employing theory-driven frameworks, and establishing implications for practice. Moreover, we provide recommendations for marketing scholars to navigate the complexities of bibliometric research effectively and make meaningful contributions to the advancement of marketing scholarship. By adhering to established guidelines and recommendations, marketing researchers can harness the power of bibliometric analysis to extract valuable insights, identify research gaps, and contribute to theoretical advancements in the discipline. This study serves as a call to action for marketing researchers to embrace bibliometric analysis as a potent tool for literature review and knowledge synthesis while also providing guidance for reviewers and editors to ensure the quality and impact of bibliometric reviews in marketing literature.

Geographic information systems (GIS) have emerged as a valuable technology for marketing management. Its relevance emanates from the distinct importance of establishment location in hospitality and restaurant industries, the continued availability and depth of geospatial data continuously generated by the consumer and generating maps as visual elements. Assuming that strategies involving group-level customer customization are optimal, this paper aims to understand how geographical location is related to certain hotel and marketing variables. After reviewing the relevant literature on the use of GIS in the hospitality and restaurant industries, spatial and hotspot analyses of the hotel sector in Madrid are carried out to identify spatial clusters of hotels and to determine what can explain the possible agglomeration of hotels in certain areas.

Mixed-linkage glucan, a cell wall polysaccharide only present in grasses and related species among flowering plants, is comprised of glucose monomers linked by both β-1,3 and β-1,4 bonds. Previous data have shown that constitutive production of MLG in barley severely compromises growth and development. Here, we used spatio-temporal strategies to engineer Arabidopsis thaliana plants to accumulate significant amounts of MLG in the cell wall by expressing the rice CslF6 MLG synthase using secondary cell wall and senescence-associated promoters. Results using secondary wall promoters were suboptimal. When the rice MLG synthase was expressed under the control of a senescence-associated promoter, we obtained up to four times more glucose in the matrix cell wall fraction and up to a 42% increase in saccharification compared to control lines. Importantly, these plants grew and developed normally. The induction of MLG deposition at senescence correlated with an increase of gluconic acid in cell wall extracts of transgenic plants in contrast to the other approaches presented in this study. MLG produced in Arabidopsis has an altered structure compared to the grass glucan, which likely affects its solubility, while its molecular size is unaffected. The induction of cell wall polysaccharide biosynthesis in senescing tissues offers a novel engineering alternative to enhance cell wall properties of lignocellulosic biofuel crops.

En este artículo nos centraremos en las reflexiones de G. W. Leibniz sobre el problema de la individuación en torno a 1686, principalmente a partir del análisis del Discours de Metaphysique1 y de los textos de la correspondencia que entabló con Arnauld2. Nuestros objetivos principales son, en primer lugar, poner de relieve los principales elementos teóricos que definen la posición leibniziana y, en segundo lugar, atender a la recepción de tales ideas por parte de la filosofía del lenguaje contemporánea, especialmente en lo que respecta a la utilización del principio de individuación de Leibniz como base para una semántica modal.

Los textos compilados en este libro hablan fundamentalmente de "Leibniz en diálogo", es decir, de Leibniz en su lectura de la tradición, en su confrontación con la filosofía y la ciencia de sus coetáneos; pero también hablan de la recepción y transformación de sus ideas por parte de las corrientes de pensamiento que le siguieron y de este modo se nutrieron de su espíritu intelectual. No pretende esta ser una edición exhaustiva, pero no por ello deja de significar la presente una amplia selección de estudios de ámbito internacional sobre el significado filosófico de Leibniz como pensador abierto, plural y conciliador. Son aquí objeto de estudio las diferentes vías de comunicación entabladas por Leibniz con la tradición, con su época o con la filosofía posterior. Este volumen pretende ser una contribución a la difusión del pensamiento leibniziano entre los profesores y estudiantes de filosofía, a la promoción del debate entre los especialistas y a la mayor consolidación de la comunidad internacional de investigadores sobre Leibniz.

El diálogo entre ética y religión es posible cuando se de la escatología, el sentido mesiánico y la esperanza en religiones, especialmente en el caso de la religión cristiana. Ernst Bloch afirma el enriquecimiento a partir del fenómeno religioso, con todos sus matices. Temas como una moral de advenimiento, el fin de la miseria, el amor a los enemigos, relativizar al "César", la introducción de la ética en la escatología, la comunidad fraterna (La Ciudad de Dios)... todos ellos pueden ayudar a encontrar una ética común a partir del fenómeno religioso.

This article evaluated the effects of an interpersonal skills program based on artistic expressions to reduce intimate partner violence in college students. The research was of explanatory type, quasi-experimental design and used the Dating Abuse questionnaire (adapted by Osorio, 2014), the Interpersonal Skills questionnaire with reliability of 0.81 having as results in the entry test in terms of violence a mean of 88. 16 and after the program was applied it decreased to 81.2, in interpersonal skills the mean of 46.6 increased to 53.3 with large effect size according to Cohen's d 7.889 CI95% (6.246-9.532), statistically significant differences were found in terms of violence.
