_Technology had a significant and varied influence on literature in the 20th century, changing writers' way of creating their works and also the themes they explored. Writers addressed the complexities of a rapidly changing world and mirrored the growing integration of technology into daily life. This paper examines how technology helps the state create a state of simulation, an utopian society, in Lois Lowry's The Giver (1993), using Baudrillard's concept of hyperreality. The government employs advanced technology to enforce "Sameness," where personal liberties, feelings, and uniqueness are eradicated to preserve control and authority. The state continues to exert control over its people by genetic engineering, monitoring, and emotional suppression so that they can mould people's identities and experiences following their personal desires. Lowry's dystopian vision of a hyperreal world emphasises the dehumanising consequences of technology, which is used to repress and alter real human experiences and limit their individual freedom. This creates a false sense of stability and contentment in citizens. Through the exploration of these themes, the book gives us important insight into both the fictitious society and our own more technologically advanced world. It warns us about the dangers of ignoring truth and uniqueness for an illusion of order and stability._.

Exploring human trust in artificial intelligence (AI) in Law Enforcement domain is paramount for its ethical and effective deployment. As AI systems become increasingly integrated into society, trust ensures transparency, accountability, and fairness in their deployment. Despite the rapid increase in discussion about AI usage in law enforcement in various sectors globally, no secondary research explores that for OCEANIA, specifically in Australia. Moreover, how humans are considered in AI law enforcement is an uninvestigated area in this region. This paper aims to investigate this gap by systematically exploring various applications used in this region and analyzing how human perspectives are used, and to what extent. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) based on 56 qualitatively selected studies to (i) classify the types, frequency, and demography of published research; (ii) explore how AI is leveraged; (iii) identify how and to what extent humans are considered in development and applications of AI in law enforcement; (iv) understand the challenges and solutions reported in this domain and worldwide. In summary, our findings point to the need for solutions to address operational and ethical issues in integrating AI into law enforcement and for unified legislation or regulations to effectively design and utilize AI in this domain. Based on the findings that highlight the important concerns in this domain, we recommend a list of future research directions.

The aspiration of most Muslim intellectuals is how to break the scientific dichotomous dilemma that has been rooted so strongly in the history of Islamic Education. Among those Muslim intellectuals is Ziauddin Sardar. The epistemological construction built by Sardar, to integrate science and religion is to make the Qur'an and Hadith as the basic foundation for the development of Islamic science. Islamic science must fulfil the following requirements, namely tawhid (God's divinity), khalifa (God's guardian), 'worship, 'ilm (knowledge), halal (permissible things), haram (prohibited things), 'adl (social justice), zulm (tyranny), istishlah (public interest), and diya' (waste). Educationally, the process of developing Islamic education for Sardar is to internalise values with the spirit of Islam, namely fulfilling the ideals of the Islamic worldview, such as brotherhood, social justice, proportional use of natural resources.

Every emerging technology has its pros and cons; health-conscious users pay more importance to healthy and environment-friendly technologies. Based on the UTAUT2 model, we proposed a comprehensive novel model to study the factors influencing consumers’ decision-making to adopt the technology. Compared to prior studies that focused on linear models to investigate consumers’ technology adoption intentions and use behavior. This study used a Structural Equation Modeling-fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis approach to account for the complexity of customers’ decision-making processes in adopting new technology. We collected valid responses from 830 consumers, analyzed them, and evaluated them using a deep learning SEM-fsQCA technique to capture symmetric and asymmetric relations between variables. We have extensively incorporated a health-consciousness attitude as a predictor and mediator to understand better the decision-making toward technology adoption, specifically 5G technology. All the factors tested in our model are statistically significant except the economic factors. Health-consciousness attitude and behavioral intention found significant predictors and valid mediators in the process of 5G technology adoption. FsQCA provided six configurations to achieve high 5G adoption. The findings have significant practical ramifications for telecom corporations, advertisers, government officials, and key policymakers. Additionally, the study added substantial theoretical literature to technology adoption, particularly the adoption of 5G technology.

An exciting development in the field of assisted reproductive technologies is In Vitro Gametogenesis (IVG) that enables production of functional gametes from stem cells in the laboratory. Currently, development of this technology is still at an early stage and has demonstrated to work only in rodents. Upon critically examining the ethical dimensions of various possible IVG applications in human fertility treatment from a Sunni Islamic perspective, together with benefit-harm (maslahah-mafsadah) assessment; it is concluded that utilization of IVG, once its efficacy and safety are guaranteed, could be permissible by strictly adhering to Islamic ethical principles related to marriage, biological/genetic relatedness, sexual intercourse, and moral status of the embryo/fetus versus that of the gamete. As a result, IVG will be acceptable for treating primary infertility, age-related infertility, and preventing genetic diseases. However, it will be unacceptable for application in posthumous reproduction, donor gametes, genetic enhancement, and procreation in same-sex couples.

Measuring and evaluating a learner’s learning ability is always the focus of every person whose aim is to develop strategies and plans for their learners to improve the learning process. For example, classroom assessments, self-assessment using computer systems such as Intelligent Tutoring Systems, and other approaches are available. Assessment of metacognition is one of these techniques. Having the ability to evaluate and monitor one’s learning is known as metacognition. An individual can then propose adjustments to their learning process based on this assessment. By monitoring, improving, and planning their activities, learners who can manage their cognitive skills are better able to manage their knowledge about a particular subject. It is common knowledge that students’ metacognitive and self-assessment skills and abilities have been extensively studied, but no research has been carried out on the mistakes that novice developers make because they do not use their self-assessment abilities enough. This study aims to assess the metacognitive skills and abilities of novice software developers working in the industry and to describe the consequences of awareness of metacognition on their performance. In the proposed study, we experimented with novice software developers and collected data using Devskiller and a self-assessment log to analyze their use of self-regulation skills. The proposed study showed that when developers are asked to reflect upon their work, they become more informed about their habitual mistakes, and using a self-assessment log helps them highlight their repetitive mistakes and experiences which allows them to improve their performance on future tasks.

Laying Islamic Sharia as an agenda of local government is also quite common among the people. Various institutions and activities aimed at campaigning for the "institutionalization" of Islamic Shari'a in public spaces continue to be echoed. With various weaknesses and strengths, one of which is in the district of Cianjur with the Movement for Community Development with morality, the purpose of this article is to see how the consistency of regional regulation number 3 of 2006 applies to regulations issued by the government, both regional and regent regulations, with the analytical research method. Descriptive supported by documents related to the researchers concluded that the regional regulations and the regulations of the regents have not yet optima to incorporate the morality element of karma into each Regulation that is ratified.

This thesis attempts to critically and comparatively analyse the issues relating to the passing of property and risk under the United Nations Convention on the Contract for International Sale of Goods and English Law. The passing of property and risk plays a central role in the area of international legislation in relation to sales contracts. These elements can be the most significant components in contracts of sale between parties, whether in the international or domestic field. The reason is founded on their legal nature and the close relationship between them. The passing of property and risk has been a central issue for practitioners, judges and lawyers dating back to the Roman period and several ideas have been proposed to resolve it. Where the situation is different for contracts of sale in relation to the passing of property and risk, whether in the domestic or international field, it still creates many unresolved problems, because of ongoing changes in the field of modern commerce, which may contribute to unfair implications between the parties. It has been observed in this thesis that both English law and the CISG adopt the party autonomy principle, where the intention of the parties - whether in relation to the passing of property or risk - is the basic rule. However, the difference lies in the default rules. While English law involves default substitutional rules, which apply in cases where there is an absence of an expressed or implied indication regarding the intention between the parties, the CISG lacks such default rules regarding the transfer of property, which could be viewed as its main weakness, although the CISG does involve such provisions with respect to the transfer of risk. This thesis willdiscusses, the legal nature of the rules in relation to the passing of property and risk, and the role of the party autonomy principle, and the impacts and legal difficulties that might arise through the application of these rules, whether they are default rules or based on the party autonomy principle. It will also examine the legal gaps and weaknesses of both legal systems in an attempt to identify such legal difficulties and to find appropriate solutions and remedies.
