Adam M. Croom, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology, Chair of the Department of Psychology, and Director of the Behavioral, Affective, and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Bethany College, West Virginia.
Adam's lab uses behavioral measures (response accuracy, response time), eye-tracking (gaze fixation and pupil dilation), electrodermal activity (EDA), and electroencephalography (EEG) for original research and exciting student projects across the psychological sciences.
The research equipment in the lab includes Emotiv mobile EEG systems, Shimmer3 GSR+ systems, and Tobii eye-tracking systems.
Before assuming his tenure-track position in the Department of Psychology at Bethany College, Adam taught cognitive science at the University of California, Merced (2020-2022) and the University of California, Berkeley (2022-2023).
In addition to teaching and engaging in original research, Adam is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Social Psychology, Associate Editor of Philosophies, Guest Associate Editor of the Philosophies Special Issue on the Philosophy and Science of Martial Arts (2023), Guest Associate Editor of the Language Sciences Special Issue on Slurs (2015), and Guest Associate Editor of the Frontiers in Psychology Special Issue on Music and the Embodied Mind (2015).
