The implementation of digital traceability solutions has become essential to improve the efficiency and ensure the quality of the production processes across all industries. In the shipbuilding sector, where subcontractors play a vital role, the ability to effectively track and document each part produced is extremely important. This study focuses on the implementation of a traceability system in a Spanish metal manufacturing company supplying a shipyard by evaluating various image processing techniques and multiple Optical Character Recognition to identify marked parts and determine the most effective solution for this application. The results of the implementation of these models were successful and represent a viable solution for the improvement of the efficiency and accessibility of information retrieval processes within the industry.

The article addresses the potential and limitations of transversality and its relationship to the radical and populist left by analysing the theoretical reflections and political practices of the Spanish party, Podemos. Transversality, as developed by Podemos, seeks to shape a new political space by capturing societal pluralism and overcoming the marginalisation traditionally assigned to the radical left. Although it aspires to broaden the leftist project by including civil society and other actors, it ultimately becomes a tool for legitimising or delegitimising internal positions within the party, thereby reinforcing an incompatible divide between radicals and moderates. The article distinguishes between “core transversality” to refer to the attempt to move beyond left-right political identification and “peripheral transversality” to include other types of identities such as nationalism and feminism.

The work of Antonio Gramsci implies, in comparison with Karl Marx, a shift toward civil society, rather than state, as an intermediate category between economic structures and political institutions. Gramsci offers indeed an integral state composed of the political society (which exercises coercion) and civil society (which generates consensus). Thus, civil society becomes the site of production and contestation of ideas, the elaboration and diffusion of ideas, or, in other words, the terrain of hegemony. Our objective with this paper is to explore how Gramsci's political theory on civil society as the arena for social and political change can be used to elaborate a theoretical framework to conceptualize and analyze immigration. We highlight four dimensions that translates Gramsci's reflections to the field of immigration: class, space, common sense, and counter-hegemony. Gramsci's theory can, in a few words, contribute to understanding how migrants can question the hegemonic order and contribute to alternative visions of society.

El Sistema para la Autonomía y Atención a la Dependencia (SAAD), es un recurso de enorme calado cuyo proceso de implementación y optimización está sometido a permanentes debates sobre sus necesidades de reforma. En este artículo se ofrecen resultados de aplicación de una encuesta a personas en situación de dependencia (total de personas encuestadas: 800) y un estudio Delphi a personas expertas. Los resultados arrojan tres elementos clave poco tratados en la literatura sobre el tema: 1. En términos demográficos, existe un amplio grupo poblacional potencialmente relacionado con el SAAD, pero fuera de su radio de acción. 2. La incertidumbre, como variable de análisis, explica en gran parte la posición de los usuarios ante el sistema, en sus diferentes etapas. 3. El medio rural es básico para la reforma del SAAD, constituyéndose en sí mismo como un foco de dificultad, pero también una herramienta de transformación.

En la Escuela de Minas de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) se ha llevado a cabo el proceso de adaptación a los principios de Bolonia. Esto ha implicado cambios en la metodología de la enseñanza. En este artículo se describe una nueva metodología aplicada a un curso introductorio de Mecánica ubicado en el primer semestre del grado de dos diferentes títulos de ingeniería. Los diferentes resultados se presentan mediante un índice que permite evaluar el resultado global del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje alcanzado con esta metodología.
