This record contains a published book review of Ali Sebetçi’s Antik Bilgelik ve Modern Bilim Bağlamında Mutlak Gerçek ve Sonsuz İmkan (İnsan Yayınları, 2021). This record deposits the Turkish translation of Aureliano Ortega Esquivel’s essay “Thinking about the Mexican Revolution: Philosophy, Culture and Politics in Mexico: 1910–1934”. Written in the context of the bicentennial and centennial commemorations of Mexican Independence and the Revolution, the essay asks how a violent and convulsive historical rupture nonetheless generated institutional and cultural conditions that proved unusually productive for national education, the arts, and especially philosophy. Esquivel traces post-1917 state-building and the consolidation of revolutionary institutions, focusing on the educational–cultural project associated with José Vasconcelos and the creation of the Department of Public Education (1921), alongside initiatives such as Mexican muralism, publishing, libraries, and cultural nation-building.
