Alberto Luis López

I am Alberto Luis López, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México - UNAM) and researcher at the National System of Researchers (SECIHTI). I was a visiting lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa (2022-24), and before a visiting assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario, Canada (2020-21). Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the FES-A, UNAM (2010-20). I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada (2016). I got a Ph.D. with honors from UNAM. There I won the Alfonso Caso Medal (2015) and the Norman Sverdlin Prize (best PhD Dissertation, 2014). I got an M.A. in Philosophy from the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain (2008), and a B.A. in Philosophy from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain (2006). I spent eight months in a research stay abroad at Trinity College Dublin (2012) with David Berman. I also studied two semesters of German Studies at the Volkshochschule in Mainz, Germany (2000).
