Areas of research:
· an account of the emergence of laws of nature, inspired by statistical explanations of the 2nd law of TD (stressing the role of constraints)
· Philosophical foundations of thermodynamics (definitions of entropy, energy, esp. when realistic models considered);
I did my PhD in Barcelona under the supervision of Carl Hoefer, then I was a postdoc at UNAM and at the Czech Academy of Sciences, visiting Pittsburgh, the Rotman Institute, etc. Previously I studied Engineering of telecommunications (URL La Salle) and Philosophy (University of Barcelona), and worked in the real world for a while.
