I am a Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method and Vice President (and Pro-Vice Chancellor) of Faculty Development at the LSE. I studied economics and philosophy at Erasmus University, Cambridge University, and UCL. I joined the LSE in 2004 and have worked here ever since, though I have held visiting positions at Harvard (2008-09), Princeton (2012-13), the National Institutes of Health, U.S. (2016-17), Erasmus University Rotterdam (2017-21), and Nuffield College, Oxford (2024-25).
