Dr. Alexios Arvanitis is assistant professor at the department of Psychology, University of Crete. He holds a B.A. in business administration, an M.B.A. from the Athens University of Business and Economics, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Panteion University. He is interested in broad areas of social psychology such as social influence, intergroup relations, and motivation. Specific areas include the study of essentialism, negotiation, social exchange theory, and self-determination theory. Apart from being involved in empirical research, he also approaches these fields on theoretical and meta-theoretical levels.
