Alison Stone

I'm a Professor of Philosophy at Lancaster University, UK. I currently work on women in nineteenth-century philosophy. This includes (ed.) Frances Power Cobbe: Essential Writings of a Nineteenth-Century Feminist Philosopher, a Cambridge Element on Cobbe, and the book Women Philosophers in Nineteenth-Century Britain. I have also published the Oxford Handbook of American and British Women Philosophers in the Nineteenth Century, co-ed. with Lydia Moland, Women on Philosophy of Art: Britain 1770-1900, and The Philosophy of Julia Wedgwood. Earlier topics on which I've worked include feminist philosophy, and post-Kantian European philosophy; I published books in these areas on Hegel, German idealism, Irigaray, feminist philosophy, motherhood and birth, and the aesthetics of popular music.
