Alison Stone

I'm a Professor of European Philosophy at Lancaster University, UK. I work on feminist philosophy, the history of philosophy, and post-Kantian European philosophy. I've published books on Hegel, German idealism, Irigaray, feminist philosophy, motherhood and birth, the aesthetics of popular music, and two edited collections. Most recently I've edited Frances Power Cobbe: Essential Writings of a Nineteenth-Century Feminist Philosopher and my short book on Cobbe in the series of Cambridge Elements in Women in the History of Philosophy is forthcoming. Currently I'm co-editing the Oxford Handbook of American and British Women Philosophers in the Nineteenth Century and writing a book on women in nineteenth-century British philosophy.
