I am a philosopher of biology and theoretical (paleo)anthropologist currently working at KU Leuven. I am interested in the dynamics of scientific reasoning and conceptual foundations of Middle and Late Pleistocene paleoanthropology and archaeology. My work has focused on HS origins, 'behavioral modernity', Neanderthal admixture and extinction, and cognitive archaeology. My current project is on hominin comparative innovation in the Middle Palaeolithic.
