My research focuses on the intersections of ethical theory with classical and contemporary Confucian thought. I'm particularly interested in the relationship between conceptions of moral conduct and personal attachment. My recent work explores the role of partiality and impartiality in classical Confucian thought, the relationship between aesthetic experience and ethical judgments, and how musical interaction provides a model for friendship. I'm also interested in the philosophy of sport.
