B. Scot Rousse (University of California, Berkeley)

I am animated by the perplexities and imperatives of learning to be human in a technological age. My scholarship has been mostly focused on existential phenomenology, especially Heidegger and Merleau-Ponty, though lately I have focused on issues pertaining to the fate of human judgement, skill, and care in a world increasingly pervaded by AI systems. In addition to being a visiting scholar and lecturer in Philosophy at UC Berkeley, I am an affiliate researcher at the Topos Institute in Berkeley.
