I am a professor of moral and political philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. I'm currently working towards a monograph-length defence of a moral theory based on an ideal of caring solidarity. This approach integrates standards of justification in interpersonal, political, and economic contexts, and centres the values of care, respect, solidarity, recognition, trust, humility, shared authority, and subsidiarity. I'm also working on applications of this approach in two areas: public health and community wealth building.
