My Chinese name is 寇哲明. I was born in Canterbury in the UK, grew up in Manchester, completed a BA in Philosophy at Nottingham in 2003 and an MA in Continental Philosophy at Warwick in 2005, and am currently studying for a PhD in Chinese and Comparative Philosophy at Renmin University of China in Beijing, with Wen Haiming (温海明) as my advisor. My thesis is a comparison of the conceptions of immanence found in the philosophies of Guo Xiang (郭象) and Gilles Deleuze.
