I specialize in analytic political philosophy and ethics. I am doing my dissertation on contractualism and animals, so I have a special emphasis on Scanlon's contractualism, Brian Barry's political application of it, and animal ethics. I also have a good knowledge of (and great respect for) both Rawlsian liberalism and the capabilities approach. I have further interests in the political philosophy of Jurgen Habermas, Rainer Forst, Ronald Dworkin, Joseph Raz, and G.A. Cohen, as well as philosophy of law.
