Bhakti Niskama Shanta, Ph.D.

Bhakti Niskam Shanta completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Utkal University in 2000. He then obtained his postgraduate degree in Fluid and Thermal Science from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, in 2003. This was followed by a Ph.D. in Coastal Hydrodynamics from the Ocean Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2008. Furthermore, he held an esteemed position as an invited Scientist at Korea Ocean Research and Development Center from May 2007 to May 2008. His academic achievements are complemented by numerous publications in international and national journals and conferences.

During his doctoral studies, he encountered his Spiritual Master, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Goswami Maharaja (Dr. T.D. Singh), whose guidance inspired his research focus on fundamental scientific topics, including the origins of matter, life, and the universe, as well as consciousness. Presently, he serves at the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Institute under the expert guidance of his Siksha-Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Madhava Puri Goswami Maharaja, Ph.D., advancing the vision and direction imparted by his spiritual master.

Dr. Shanta's travels have taken him extensively throughout India and abroad, advancing the integration of Vedanta and Science through educational endeavors. His scientific lectures have been presented at diverse institutions worldwide, including schools, colleges, and universities in India, Nepal, London, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Ireland, and Singapore. Dr. Shanta's daily Zoom lectures, translated into multiple languages, have a profound impact on scholars and individuals globally. In May 2021, he was appointed as the Sevaite-President-Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Nrishinga Palli, Nabadwip Dham, West Bengal, India, a position he currently holds.
