I specialize in the philosophy of music. Recently, I have been considering the social aesthetics of music -- i.e., the collective experience of and social negotiations involved in how we create, consume, and categorize music. (I'm presently focusing on listening to music with others.) I have also done a good deal of work on the question of whether music can represent things beyond itself.

I am also host of a YouTube series in which I talk to other philosophers about a wide variety of issues in Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Art. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/c/PhilosophersDiscussingArt?sub_confirmation=1
