Brian Guarino

Brian Guarino is an independent researcher and the founder of Guarino Industries LLC. His work applies dimensional analysis and the discipline of treating problems quantitatively across several domains, from operations research and propulsion to the philosophy of mind. His philosophical work develops a coupling framework for consciousness and uses it to address long-standing puzzles: whether the question "is consciousness faster than light?" is even well-formed, what the limits of hallucinatory experience reveal about how the brain constructs qualia, and how subjective time is built rather than received. He is the author of the Threshold Hypothesis and related papers on consciousness and perception.
