Bruno Cortesi

I recently completed a temporary appointment as 'OeAD Ernst Mach' visiting researcher at the University of Graz. I hold a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind from the Scuola Superiore IUSS di Pavia, preceded by a Master's in Consciousness and Embodiment from University College Dublin and a Master's in Philosophy from the University of Pavia. During my academic training, I held visiting positions at the Central European University (Budapest), the University of Cambridge, and the University of Fribourg. From 2013 to 2018, I was a fellow (now alumnus) of the Almo Collegio Borromeo of Pavia, founded in 1561 and recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) as a highly qualified cultural institution.

My research interests lie at the intersection of analytic philosophy of mind, metaphysics, epistemology, and phenomenology—understood both as a tradition and as a methodological approach. More recently, I have begun developing a sustained engagement with non-Western philosophical traditions.
